Since 2013 the alpine Christmas opera \u201eSilent Night\u201c has been staged at the city event hall with an overwhelming success.
\nThe opera describes the story behind the making of the world famous song \u201eSilent Night, Holy Night\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

Anno Domini 1818...<\/strong><\/p>\n

The assistant priest Joseph Mohr is transferred to Oberndorf near Salzburg. Coming from a poor family background, he comits himself to help people who are suffering and stands them by during their famine and gives them back their belief in God and themselves. The impoverished village inhabitants and Salzlach boatmen suffer too much under the vicious, power-possessed priest N\u00e4ssler and the famine in winter. Mohr is rejected and experiences resentment.<\/p>\n

The orphan boy...<\/strong><\/p>\n

The acquaintance with the orphan boy Vitus whose mother died during his birth and whose father perished in the floods of the Salzach, deeply hurts the young priest emotionally. After the boy with his golden voice has conquered his heart, the assistant priest decides, despite many conflicts, to arrange an unforgettable Christmas Eve Mass for the people of the village.<\/p>\n

Silent night...<\/strong><\/p>\n

He only finds a friend - the school and music teacher Franz Xaver Gruber. Together with him he tries to give the orphan boy a little bit of warmth, builds the long promised school for the pupils and he offers some comfort and strength to the village citizens. So he succeeds to write an unforgettable text for the Holy Night of Christmas. He asks Gruber to compose for this text a melody. The unforgettable song gives the citizens of Oberndorf again strength for a happy togetherness.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

After over ten years overwhelming success of the \u201ealpine stable Christmas\u201c as part of the Christmas market we decided in 2012 to stick to and follow the unforgettable and true Christmas story. After her decision to write a libretto about the assistant priest Mohr and the village school teacher Gruber, two things were clear from the beginning: On the one hand she knew that the unique and thrilling story could never find a better setting than here in our village, the nicest Christmas market of the whole alpine region, and on the other hand she was sure that the whole village Bad Hindelang would support this wonderful story.<\/p>\n

It is again always an impressive experience how many people work together and care for this project and stand up for the same goal. From the very beginning, the production in Bad Hindelang has worked with a lot of skill, commitment and passion \u2013 which is of course also necessary to put such a moving story into an extraordinary muscial staging. Our brilliant cast of actors, the production of costumes, the creation and the set building, the whole group of artists, the unique children and men choir, our members of the orchestra, the musical direction led by Ralf Ludwig, the composers Ludwig Thomas and Marco Hertenstein \u2013 they are all part of a gorgeous theater family, that together with the many helpers keep the Christmas market in Bad Hindelang on a high level.<\/p>\n

Look forward to a very special experience \u201eSilent Night\u201c is a story for young and old which over 200 years ago spread a message out to the whole world. One would like to make this message shine in new splendor and to bring people again closer to values such as cohesion, faith, confidence and peace.<\/p>\n

He wrote the music for films like \u201eHidden Children \u2013 survival in the hide\u201c, (Kasparfilm\/ Kirsten, Esch). \u201eOlympia murder \u2013 Munich, 72\u201c (ZDF), \u201eKnef \u2013 the early years\u201c, \u201eHarlen \u2013 in the shadow of Jud S\u00fcss\u201c (NEF\/Blueprint Film\/Felix Moeller) and created the accompanying music for the DVD of the piano virtuous Lang Lang \u201eDragon songs\u201c (Deutsche Gramophon\/Nightfrog, Benedict Mirow).<\/p>\n

Besides Hartenstein composed numerous concertant commissioned works, beyond that violine partita \u201ePartita Nuova\u201c for the Bach academy Stuttgart (premiered at the European music festival Stuttgart by star violinist Julia Fischer), \u201eL\u2019odeur de l\u2019assassin\u201c (\u201eThe scent of the murder\u201c) for viola and piano for Nils M\u00f6nkemeyer (Klassik Echo 2009). He also composed works for orchestra and soloists as well as for choir and chamber music. In 2009 his fairy tale opera \u201eDie verlorenen Gedanken\u201c (\u201eThe lost thoughts\u201c) were presented on stage at the G\u00e4rternplatz. In spring 2010 he was awarded fo his \u201ecomplementary cycle of Camille Saens\u2018 \u201eCarneval of the animals\u201c with the title \u201eThe gate to the tale world\u201c for two pianos, orchestra and speakers.<\/p>\n

Marco Hartenstein was awarded the \u201eFranz-Grothe-Prize\u201c and the \u201eRolf-Hans-M\u00fcller-Prize\u201c. He received recognition for the soundtrack music for films he contributed to such as the German TV prize, the prize for the best documentary film at the Kuala-Lumpar-film festival 2009 and the \u201epreservation of audiovisual memory award 2009\u201c at the Jerusalem-film-festival.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Studies at the music university and the LM university in Munich as well as his private study in vocals and actor language at Prof. Langen completed his education as professional musician who feels at home in different music styles.<\/p>\n

25 years concert activity as bariton, cofounder of the vocal ensemble \u201eThe Singphoniker\u201c \u2013 (the \u201esingphonist\u201c \u2013 compound noun of singer and symphonists) as well as numerous international primed CD-recordings give a lasting renown to his work as composer and arranger. During his career he has often come across the musical topic of Christmas. He set to music \u201eHoly night\u201c by Ludwig Thoma for the Munich men choir and created a song cycle of European Christmas songs for the vocal ensemble \u201eDie Singphoniker\u201c (\u201eThe singphonists\u201c).<\/p>\n

At the moment he is composing the alpine Christmas opera \u201eSilent Night\u201c in cooperation with the composer Marco Hertenstein.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Als Knabensolist sang er u.a. unter Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado und Nikolaus Harnoncourt in den gro\u00dfen Opernh\u00e4usern und Konzerts\u00e4len des In- und Auslandes. Seine Ausbildung erg\u00e4nzte er in Holland und Osnabr\u00fcck im Bereich Gesang, Dirigieren und Schulmusik.<\/p>\n

Ralf Ludwig was significantly involved in the installation of the Bach ensemble for old music in the Netherlands. As voice teacher and choir master he taught at different music schools in northern Germany. In 1997 he received his diploma as speech therapist. In 2002 the multiple award-winning choir conductor and song solist returned to his T\u00f6lzer choir where he began working as voice coach with the boy choir. Here he was four years art director and chief executive officer.<\/p>\n

In 2014 at the beginning of September due to his foundation of the \u201eMunich boy choir\u201c he gave up his functions at the T\u00f6lzer boy choir.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
